Shela, Beach, Garden and Palm House are four luxury villas situated on the beautiful island of Lamu Island. There are no cars on the island, and transport is by dhow, donkey or on foot. Truly a unique location that required a unique website. The owners came back to Design Haus for this redesign after we originally created a site for them back in January 2000 and commissioned Design Haus to create a distinctive site that reflected the peace and tranquillity of the location. At the same time the site needed to perform in search engine natural listings and allow staff to maintain areas of the website themselves.

If there is one thing that gets a designer excited about a project it is when there is great photography available. Leslie Duckworth from Shela House provided Design Haus with a cd-rom full of the most incredible images to use. The site is designed to showcase these images.

We placed these great images into a hand drawn border that was 'borrowed' from a beautiful map of the area.
