Mobile Apps
A dedicated iPhone application can bring your service to life
and put your company back on the map. Whether it's an app for
finding your store, using your service, or just providing
information about your company, a dedicated app can deliver more
than just a website.
The question of whether or not to have an iPhone app is a repeat
of the question companies were asking themselves a decade ago. Back
then the question was 'should we get a website'. We've all seen the
phenomenal growth of the internet and I think today most companies
realise that having a website is essential. Many people are coming
to realise that having a dedictaed iPhone app is just as
important.
An app can integrate much more seamlessley with the device than
a standard website can, even a website that has been optmised for
mobile devices.
If you think you need an app, you probably do, so talk to us
today and see how we can help. Below is a selection of apps we have
delivered to other forward-thinking companies.

41 Portland Place App Case Study
41 Portland Place iPhone and Android Phone
App
As with all of Design Haus projects the first step was to
conduct a discovery phase, this allowed the team to find out more
about how41 Portland Placeoperates and most importantly what their
expectations were of what the app is going to offer their
clients. Once the discovery phase had been completed between
Design Haus and the team at41 Portland Placewe had come up with an
app which was very exciting and unique to the hospitality and
events industry.
The brief was to deliver an app which would promote the unique
venue and services of41 Portland Placeas well as offer a
'concierge' style service to clients when they are attending an
event.
During the design and the development stage our thought process
was to keep the app simple and user friendly.41 Portland Placeis a
beautiful building offering unique venue settings which we wanted
to highlight throughout the app, we did this by using a number of
large images and kept the content as simple as possible. This makes
the app more mobile friendly allowing the app user to be able to
use the app more conveniently whilst on the move.
The app also offers a number of interactive services... Under
the 'Local Amenities' tab the app user can find Local Coffee Shops,
Bars, Hotels, Restaurants, Banks, Post Offices and Pharmacies. The
app also offers an interactive directions map, for example if you
are anywhere in the UK you can click on the 'Interactive Map'
button and it will give you directions either by car, public
transport or walking and a estimated journey time direct to 41
Portland Place.
One of the most unique features of the app is the 'My Event'
section... If a client is attending an event at41 Portland
Placethat client will be recommended to download the app by the
event organiser and given a unique password for the specific event.
The 'My Event' section is tailored for each event, once you are
logged in you will see the event hosts logo at the top of the page
followed the Event Program, Attendees and Event Downloads (this
shows any documents the event organiser may have uploaded, for
example minutes from a meeting etc).
The app is available to download on the UK's two most popular
mobile devices, the iPhone and Android Phone and the 'My Event'
section is available on all Smartphone via the a mobile
website.
