Not a role model for E-Commerce design

We are faced every day with complex design issues and have to make decisions on how we design our clients e-commerce interfaces. We take all the aspects of our clients site design and build very seriously especially when it comes to getting a user to click the buy it now button.

This is an interesting article about a debate that has been going on for a while in our studio, and one that we feel very passionate about getting correct.

Summary:
Many design elements work for Amazon.com mainly because of its status as the world's largest and most established e-commerce site. Normal sites should not copy Amazon's design.

The value of page rank?

We have many clients that we manage their sites online marketing using both natural and search advertising. One of the biggest questions to us of late is the amount that should be paid for links.
Over the last 6 months it has come to light that page rank does not hold the importance that we all thought it would. Still one of the most important tasks that any SEO will do is finding good quality links into the site, but how do you value them without page rank?
